Inspiring Women in Campbelltown

Schools Industry Partnership, Adrian Rhodes

On 22nd June, 90 female students from Campbelltown Performing Arts High school and surrounding schools interacted with 15 inspiring women volunteers representing a range of different career pathways and occupations. Ten ITF volunteer speakers attended physically and five AWS volunteers attended virtually via Zoom. Cr Meg Oates, Deputy Mayor of Campbelltown gave the opening address. Participating volunteers represented industries such as Construction Engineering, Civil Construction, Accounting, Printing, Transport, Hospitality and Education and Information Technology.  Each volunteer, including Cr Oates, not only shared what they do in their job, but also their journey to get where they are today and the challenges they faced and overcame.  They also imparted valuable advice to the students to inspire them to utilise their full potential at school and in their future careers.  Many thanks to all guest speakers. What you shared could become a positive turning point in young lives.

The event was a collaborative initiative of Inspiring the Future Australia, NSW State Training Services (RIEP program), AWS (Amazon Web Services) and the Campbelltown Educational Pathways Pilot Program.
